Lakshmi Narayan Temple Built by industrialist Baldeo Das Birla and his sons, the temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi for all religious people. It was built between 1933 and 1939 and was the first major Hindu temple in Delhi.
Birla Temple is spread over 7.5 acres and has a large garden, shrine, fountain, and a room called Geeta Bhawan for speech. BANGLA SAHIB GURUDWARA
Whatever religious belief you follow, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi is a must see for you. He is one of the most famous Sikh gurdwaras in the city and the country. He is known for his association with the eighth Sikh guru, Guru Har Krishan Singh.
The Gurudwara Bangla Sahib was built as a small shrine by Sikh General Sardar Baghel Singh in 1783 and is located on Baba Kharak Singh Marg in Connaught Place in New Delhi. Its golden dome and a large flagpole called the Nishan Sahib make the place visible from afar.
It is interesting to note that Gurudwara Bangla Sahib was originally a bungalow owned by Raja Jai Singh and known as Jaisingh Pura Palace. Guru Har Krishan Singh is believed to have lived in the bungalow in 1664 while in Delhi.
An epidemic of smallpox and cholera has spread throughout the city. He provided help and water to many affected people from a small well in the house. Later, he himself became ill from the disease and died on March 30, 1664. Raja Jai Singh built a small reservoir in this well, which still exists today.
The water in this reservoir is believed to have healing properties and people around the world carry it with them. The Gurdwara campus is also home to a hospital, library, and high school, as well as the Baba Baghel Singh Museum.
